２００６年のトリノオリンピックで、女子フィギュアースケート・シングル競技において、金メダルを獲得した。そのトリノ五輪のフリースケーティング本番でイナバウアー（Layback Ina Bauer）を披露して観衆の大喝采を浴びたのは、記憶に新しい。
